The Art School at Old Church is pleased to announce The 28th Annual New Jersey Small Works Show. The exhibition celebrates artists working in a small format. This year, the exhibition is open to artists nationwide to increase diversity and have local New Jersey artists interact with artists throughout the country.

Juror: Dr. Gail Stavitsky-Dr Gail Stavitsky has been the chief curator at the Montclair Art Museum (MAM) since 1994. Previously, Dr. Stavitsky served as curator for exhibitions at the Carnegie Museum of Art, The New York Public Library, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Grey Art Gallery at NYU. She has written exclusively for numerous publications, is a frequent lecurer, and holds a Ph.D. in Art History from the Institute of Fine Arts-NYU.

Artist Eligibility • Open to all artists nationwide.

Artwork Eligibility • Artwork, including frame and/or base, cannot exceed 15 inches in any dimension. All two-dimensional work must be wired and ready to hang. Accepted work may be, but is not limited to: painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, glass, collage, prints, photography, polaroid transfers or mixed media.  Works previously exhibited at the Mikhail Zakin Gallery will not be accepted. 

Image Submission • All submissions must be completed by 12:00 AM on May 9, 2017. Artists may submit up to 4 images for $30.00, additional images at $5.00 each, limit of 6 images per artist. All fees are non-refundable.

Sales • Sales are encouraged. The Mikhail Zakin Gallery receives a 35% commission on sales. Please indicate the price or mark NFS if Not For Sale.

Pick up • Work must be picked up by July 15 and July 17, 2017. The Mikhail Zakin Gallery is not responsible for works left in the gallery after July 17. If you would like to have your work returned to you via shipping, please include pre-paid shipping materials as well as a re-packing and shipping fee of $15.00, payable by check to The Art School.

Agreement • The Mikhail Zakin Gallery reserves the right to reject works not satisfactorily represented by the images submitted, work exceeding 15” x 15”, works previously exhibited at the Mikhail Zakin Gallery or artwork that arrives in a condition deemed unsuitable for exhibition. Submission of entries to this competition constitutes agreement by the entrant to these conditions.
